There's no substitute for a DJ who has actually worked a room. Below is my genuine take on the venues I'm recommended at — what they're like, who they suit, and the practical things worth knowing before you book. I'll keep adding to this as I go.
A 19th-century country house hotel sitting in eight acres of its own gardens on the edge of Quorn village. It's warm and characterful rather than cavernous — the kind of place that feels like a proper occasion the moment you walk in, without ever feeling stuffy.
Most weddings here run through the Goodacre Suite, which takes you from ceremony to wedding breakfast to evening party in one flow, with the gardens and their gazebo on hand for an outdoor ceremony when the weather plays ball. For smaller, more intimate days the Oak Panel Room is a lovely fit.
I'm a recommended supplier here, so I know the team, the timings, and where to set up for the best sound in the room. That familiarity is the difference between a night that ticks along and one that genuinely lifts off — no working it out on the day.
